Deeper Life #343

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man.

—Genesis 6:3

YOU MAY TALK ABOUT YOUR Christian experience all you like; but unless you have been invaded by the Holy Spirit, and every determination of your nature has been fixed on the Lord, your experience amounts to nothing. Consecration is not enough. Obedience is not enough. Only your decision to let the Lord have His way can give you the victory.

You may have spiritual ecstasies. You may see angels. You may spend nights in prayer. But the thing that really counts is not what you experience, but what you allow God to do for you.

Prayer Thought: Thank You, Lord, for spiritual experiences. But I bless Your holy name for flooding my soul with Your Spirit.
