For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

THE FIRST THING THE CHRISTIAN worker has to learn is how to bring the Lord Jesus Christ in contact with those whose souls are perfectly dead toward God, whose consciences are not the slightest bit disturbed. How are we to bring the Lord Jesus Christ to lives that are dead in trespasses and sins and do not know it? By the Holy Spirit and personal experience alone.

By personal experience I mean that I must know what God has done in my soul through Jesus Christ. I must know Jesus Christ personally before I can help someone else to know Him. Furthermore, I must learn to rely on the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit makes the Lord present to all kinds of people.

Whenever Jesus Christ encountered sinners in His day, they either rebelled or followed Him. They either “went away exceedingly sorrowful,” or they turned with their whole nature toward Him. We can expect the same thing to happen today.

Prayer Thought: O Lord, help me bring some lost wanderer into contact with You today.
