Deeper Life #273

Deeper Life #273

And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

—Luke 19:5

EARLIER I SAID THAT THE Christian worker has to live in the facts of the Bible and the facts of human life. What are the facts of human life, as God reveals them? God’s Word says that the majority of the human race is abnormal. Jesus Christ sees that all men are lost; and the Christian worker must get the same outlook if he is going to work for the cure for souls.

Notice a very important distinction between the lost and the doomed: Jesus Christ is seeking the lost. The doomed are those who rebel against the seeking Savior.

Many Christian workers today are not taking the standpoint of the Lord Jesus Christ; they do not understand why some souls fail to respond to their message. We need to view people as Christ sees them. We must love people as God does. Otherwise we will become loveless, passionless, and totally ineffective as workers of God.

Prayer Thought: Help me, O Lord of mercy, to talk to people as precious souls destined for eternity.
