Deeper Life #184

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

—Matthew 9:35

WHAT IS A MIRACLE? THERE is no such thing as a miracle to the soul who belongs to Jesus Christ. There is nothing unusual in the work that the Holy Spirit does, even though it seems out of the ordinary course of nature to our finite sense and judgment.

Jesus Christ can heal the body. He can deliver the tortured mind. God grant us the grace to know our ignorance and to get out of the way with our limited knowledge, so that we will let the Holy Spirit bring our majestic Christ face to face with the diseased, sick folk we have to face!

Prayer Thought: Holy Spirit of God, reveal the beauty of Christ to me and through me.
