The Outcome Is Confirmed

On September 11, 2001, the United States of America was attacked by hostile forces. The destruction wrought by terrorists in New York City and Washington, D.C., was the first time anyone in modern times had brought so serious an attack within the continental boundaries of America.

U.S. President George W. Bush interpreted the attacks as acts of war and immediately declared war on terrorism. The declaration itself was evidence of the changing face of warfare in the modern era. For the first time, war was being declared by America not on an offending nation, but on an ideology—the ideology of terrorism.

The weapons of war were new. Diplomatic strategies, embargos, financial tools, trade, and social strategies would be used to isolate and ostracize nations in the world community that did not eagerly join the worldwide fight against terrorism. Finally, the military would be employed.

Unlike military conflicts in this world, the outcome of our spiritual warfare is already confirmed: Satan will be defeated and believers in Jesus Christ will reign triumphantly with Him forever.
