Saying Thank You
Saying Thank You
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
A medieval monk announced he would be preaching the following Sunday evening on the love of God. As the shadows fell and the light ceased to come in through the cathedral windows, the congregation gathered. In the darkness of the altar, the monk lit a candle and carried it to a statue of Christ on the cross. First of all, he illumined the crown of thorns; next, the two wounded hands; finally, the marks of the spear wound. In the hush that fell, the monk blew out the candle and left the chancel. There was nothing else to say.
The greatest example of God’s love for us is that He gave His only Son so that we could have the chance to live with Him in eternity. How do you say thank you for the ultimate gift? By worshiping and honoring God in everything you do. Live like every action is a thank-you note to Him—while washing the dishes, driving your car, singing at church. Every moment you live is another opportunity to say thank you. By becoming involved in your local church and supporting other believers with your talents and offerings, you are opening up for God to work through you.
When you say thank you to God with your life, He will bless you.
