Rocky Or Rock Solid?

Rocky Or Rock Solid?

Marriage should be honored by all.

Hebrews 13:4 NIV

Researchers at the University of Washington claim they can predict with 87 percent accuracy which newlyweds will divorce and which will stay together for a lifetime. Their predictions are based on how a couple talks to each other. Those expressing fondness and love to each other had marriages that tended to last. Those who were always rude and seemed unable to say good things often divorced.

At the dawn of history, God created a man named Adam and allowed him to experience loneliness, to feel incomplete and unfulfilled. The animals of the field and the birds of the air didn’t satisfy Adam’s physical and emotional needs. So the Lord created a woman—not a child, a son or daughter, or another man, but someone like Adam yet different. Bringing Adam and Eve together, the Lord established the ordinance of marriage with these words: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).

When the writer of Hebrews later said that marriage should be “honored” by all, he used a word meaning “to view as valuable, of great worth, priceless.”

Your marriage is God designed and priceless. Take care of it.
