Positive Changes
Positive Changes
He changes the times and the seasons.
Daniel 2:21
A cartoonist in the New Yorker drew a picture of a small-town general store with this banner in the window: “Going Out of Business, Slowly but Surely.” Many churches and organizations go out of business slowly but surely because they resist change.
You might not like change, but I’ll bet you can think of something worse—stagnation! “Stagnation can befall any kind of organization,” warns consultant Jeanie Daniel Duck.
Stagnation can also befall people. We have to remember that while not all changes are good, changes from God are very good. “Wherever the Lord’s Spirit is, there is freedom,” wrote the apostle Paul. “As all of us reflect the Lord’s glory with faces that are not covered with veils, we are being changed into His image with ever-increasing glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18 GW).
What a mess we’d be in if we couldn’t change our sinful lives, if we couldn’t grow or improve, if we couldn’t learn or advance. Don’t be afraid of change, and don’t be afraid to change. Just make sure you’re changing for the better.
