Keep Building The Church

Keep Building The Church

Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

Romans 15:2 NIV

I will never forget the process of building the worship center for our church. It was exciting, a vision taking shape before our eyes. Even now I can visualize every step of the process: from the time the backhoe dug the first scoop of dirt until the carpet was laid in the finished building.

We get excited about buildings and seeing them take shape. However, the New Testament is much more concerned about building people. Build up the body of Christ. That, I believe, is what you and I are to be about as the last days come upon us.

With all my heart, I want every year of my life to be a building year. I’m not speaking of physical buildings, though some may be built. I’m referring to the building of God’s people. I want to build up the body of Christ until He comes or calls me home. Join me, please.
