Jesus Sees You

Jesus Sees You

For the LORD your God . . . knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.

Deuteronomy 2:7

What parent has not exhorted his teenager to behave properly “because God is watching”? From childhood, we are taught that God sees and knows everything—and so He does. But there’s a flip side to that truth. While it’s true He sees our failings, it is even truer that He sees our successes—and our struggles.

Family experts tell parents, “Instead of trying to catch your kids doing something wrong, catch them doing something right!” More often than not, when we are being faithful to obey the Lord and find it difficult, we think He is nowhere around. But that’s not true. God is ever watchful, which means He sees our struggles when we’re trying to serve Him faithfully. And He comes to us with aid in His time just like He did with the disciples when they were obediently rowing across the Sea of Galilee in a storm. Jesus was alone on a mountain praying, but “He saw them straining at rowing” and “He came to them” (Mark 6:48). If you are struggling in a storm, don’t worry—Jesus sees you.

Knowing that Jesus is aware of our needs is a comfort beyond measure.
