Missionary Jim Elliot said, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”

Jonathan Edwards, whose ministry sparked the Great Awakening, made this his life’s motto: “Resolved: To follow God with all my heart. Resolved also: Whether others do or not, I will.”

John Eliot, early missionary to the American Indians, said, “I can do little; yet I am resolved through the grace of Christ, I will never give over the work, so long as I have legs to go.”

C. T. Studd, one of England’s greatest athletes, shocked the world when he gave up fame and fortune to be a missionary to China. “If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him,” he explained.
