Daily Power #53
Daily Power #53
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. (Phil. 2:1–2)
The state of Oklahoma, where I live, has seen plenty of tragedy lately. From shootings to tornados, when a crisis disrupts one life, it unsettles all of us. And I know it’s not only our state, or even our country—we see unexpected unpleasant events unfold around the world. The only silver lining, or so it seems, is the way people come together to mourn, grieve, and regroup. Sometimes they band together to take action to prevent the calamity from happening again. Other times they simply unite to serve, restore, and rebuild.
This unity borne of tragedy helps us survive and recover, but we don’t have to wait until there’s a loss to unite as a community. We can show the love of Christ to one another without any reason other than fulfilling the purpose God has called us to and to express our joy in doing it.
As we become one in spirit and unified in our shared beliefs, we become stronger than any one individual. God dwells among us and promises to bless us with his presence, both in good times and in bad. We can meet one another’s needs and experience the transformation that comes from both giving and receiving his love every day.

Jesus, today I want to connect with other people and serve them with your love. Help me to unite with others who love you or want to know you.
