Daily Power #333

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (2 Cor. 9:8 NLT)

If you’ve ever lived through a home improvement project, then you know that it always takes twice as long (and twice as much money) as you projected. If you’re doing it yourself, then it’s also going to require at least three extra trips to Home Depot, one stop at Lowe’s, and a few borrowed tools from neighbors. If you’re doing a major renovation and hire a contractor to do the work, then God bless you!

Seriously, these experiences are incredibly stressful, because no matter how much and how well you plan, something unexpected usually comes up. The pipes are rusted and need to be replaced. The roof has a hole in it and must be patched. The electrical panel wasn’t done to code and needs a new breaker box installed. And that sets off a whole new round of trips to the hardware store or conversations about increasing your renovation budget.

Can you imagine what it would be like to remodel your house and have everything you needed at your fingertips whenever you needed it? Crazy, right? It’s almost impossible to imagine because it could never happen. But God promises us that when we’re doing his good work, we will have everything we need.

This is the essence of grace—the free gift of God that we can’t buy, earn, or build for ourselves. He loves us so much that he sacrificed his most precious Son. We have grace in abundance, including plenty to share with others.

Power Lift

God, I’m so thankful for the gift of grace. Thank you for giving me all I need to do your good work—today and always.
