Daily Power #243

Daily Power #243

Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. (Prov. 15:30)

Ever have one of those phone calls in the middle of the night? You know, the kind that you know must be bad news before you answer it. Or maybe it’s that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach when you see the return address on certain letters in your mailbox or particular subject lines in your emails.

Fortunately, the news is not always as bad as we think it will be—or even bad at all. I especially love it when the news is good. That text that came in was just a friend reminding me that he’s praying for me. The phone call was just one of the kids asking to extend her curfew. The letter wasn’t a bill but simply an overview of your account.

Sometimes I think we forget to share our good news with others. But we definitely need to share it now more than ever. We hear plenty of negative stories, horrific headlines, and depressing sound bites from the 24/7 news cycles. We get jaded and forget about all the amazing things God is doing in millions of lives around the world.

Good news is a gift to be shared. Today remember to let the people you care about know what the Lord’s been doing for you. Ask them to share in your joy and celebrate your blessings.

Power Lift

Dear God, allow me to be a messenger of your good news, bringing grace and life to all those around me.
