Daily Power #159
Daily Power #159
Though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Cor. 10:3–5)
Where are you weak?
Where are you vulnerable?
When are you most likely to get caught in a trap that could destroy what you treasure most?
Now is a very important moment. Be truthful.
You are only as strong as you are honest.
I want you to pause for a moment and think about when you are most vulnerable. Maybe it’s when you travel. You’re away from home. Working hard. Feeling lonely. And temptation strikes hard. Perhaps it’s when you are bored. Without much going on during a Sunday afternoon, your mind wanders. You’re playing on social media. A few clicks later you end up somewhere you shouldn’t.
Once you have identified your most vulnerable points, you’ll want to put up boundaries. If you don’t have a strong wall of defense, it’s time to build one. If you have some vulnerable spots in what once resembled a wall, let’s close those gaps and eliminate the obvious access points. I’d suggest that if you are even remotely tempted or think you might be vulnerable, plan today to stay out of trouble tomorrow. If you truly want to honor God, living by his Holy Spirit, then it’s time to defend your weaknesses.
Why? Because most fights are won or lost before they ever begin.
Power Lift
Search my heart, Lord, and show me where I need to protect my weaknesses. Protect me from the Enemy’s attacks. Help me fight before the battle even begins.
