WHEN YOU WANT TO SHARE THE BLESSING OF OBEDIENCE WITH YOUR CHILDREN . . .

How joyful are those who fear the LORD—

all who follow his ways!

You will enjoy the fruit of your labor.

How joyful and prosperous you will be!

WHEN YOUR HEART NEEDS TO LINE UP WITH GOD’S HEART . . .

Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today. But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the LORD your God and turn away from him and worship gods you have not known before.

WHEN OBEDIENCE FEELS TOO HARD . . .

Samuel replied,

“What is more pleasing to the LORD:

your burnt offerings and sacrifices

or your obedience to his voice?

Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice,

and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft,

and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols.

So because you have rejected the command of the LORD,

he has rejected you as king.”

WHEN YOU’RE TEMPTED TO GIVE LIP SERVICE INSTEAD OF OBEDIENCE . . .

Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
