Endurance
Endurance
Perhaps you’ve heard the old line, “How do you eat an elephant?” The answer, of course, is simple: “One bite at a time.” Sometimes, that “elephant” is the oh-so-daily job of parenting. It’s exhausting. We often want to quit, or we turn to schools, pastors, or friends to tackle the tough job of teaching and training our children. Weariness sets in, and we’re tempted to lose interest or disengage. Can I encourage you? Don’t do it. Don’t give in. Endure. Persevere. The Lord is your help, and your kids are worth every ounce of energy that you put into them. The Bible encourages us that if we persist, if we don’t grow weary and give up, if we run the race that’s been set before us with endurance, if we plant and tend our fields, in due season we will reap a harvest. That’s how we walk out all that God has for us . . . with endurance and perseverance. Don’t give up! Don’t quit. Endure. God is faithful.
WHEN YOU NEED TO HEAR THAT GOD IS PLEASED WHEN YOU HANG IN THERE . . .
We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering.
WHEN YOU WONDER IF YOU’RE MAKING A DIFFERENCE . . .
Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
WHEN YOU NEED ENCOURAGEMENT TO STAY IN THE FIGHT . . .
Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. . . . Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
