Beautiful Word Devotional #83

“Between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.”

Luke 16:26

So many people don’t yet know Jesus. They are living their lives as if either he doesn’t exist or he does exist but his life on earth didn’t matter. Not only is there a spiritual chasm between these people and God, but also there is a lack of understanding. They simply cannot fathom why Jesus came to die for us.

These people will begin to understand him when they see us live joyfully. With our infectious devotion to him, we will show what it’s like to live without a chasm between us and God.

Don’t be discouraged if some people in your life mock you for your devotion to Jesus. Don’t grow weary in extending to them love, respect, and kindness. As you do so, you are demonstrating the reality of Jesus, the love he has that is counterintuitive. That love bridges the chasm between their hearts and God’s.

Lord, I want to love others with your love. Use me so they will finally come to know you, amen.
