Beautiful Word Devotional #68
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Hebrews 6:19
Emotions dip and soar. Our days can hinge on their fickle ways. And yet, this verse promises there is security that is solid, unwavering.
You may be worried about a loved one’s wanderings. Or maybe you’re in financial hardship. Or perhaps your dreams have been dashed. Maybe you’ve lost someone dear to you through death or betrayal. In all these situations, God provides hope.
And the hope he offers isn’t wishful thinking. It is based on truth and reality. We have hope for today as well as for the future because Jesus came, lived a sin-free life, died in our place, and beat death by resurrecting. That historical fact cannot be refuted.
The author of Hebrews called this hope an anchor for the soul. The waves around you may be crashing, but this hope rooted in your good God holds you in the storm. That anchor is fixed and cannot be removed. Wherever you find yourself in the storm today, choose to believe in the reality and power of this well-anchored hope.
Lord, you are my hope. Help me remember that when life and emotions become a storm, amen.
