Beautiful Word Devotional #207

In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Colossians 2:9–10

God is fully in Christ, and Christ is fully in you. What an amazing truth!

Yet you may not feel like you’re complete; you may feel that you’re lacking in something important. But the reality is, because of Jesus, you have been made full. He has filled you up with himself.

Still, at times you feel empty. What enables you to move through life as you struggle with depression or anxiety or overwhelming fear? Try gently reminding yourself of the truth that the God of the universe is for you, not against you. That he sent his Son to die for you, so you could have fullness of life. That his love for you is not dependent on you, but is dependent on his faithfulness to his nature. God is love.

The God who is above every power and authority has chosen to love you. Remind yourself of this foundational, purpose-giving truth.

Lord, please help me remind myself of your love, the fullness of your love that fills me, amen.
