Beautiful Word Devotional #174
“I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.”
Exodus 6:6
God spoke these words to Moses before he went to Pharaoh, reminding Moses that he would be with him in everything. Yet Moses argued with God because, at this point, the Israelites were tired of hearing Moses talk about God delivering Israel. Moses said, “My own people won’t listen to me anymore. How can I expect Pharaoh to listen? I’m such a clumsy speaker!”
God tried to reassure reluctant Moses through miraculous signs and wonders. God did not call Moses to go before Pharaoh without giving him words, a plan, and power.
Maybe God has encouraged you to do something that seems impossible. And perhaps you’ve been like Moses, ready with very logical excuses as to why it wouldn’t possibly work.
You’ll miss the miracles unless you take that first step. So say those words you’re afraid to say. Take that leap of faith that scares you to death. In those moments you feel helpless and frightened, you will see how faithful and powerful God is.
Lord, give me courage to take steps of faith so I don’t miss your miracles. Amen.
