Beautiful Word Devotional #142

When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.”

Judges 6:12

Gideon was an unlikely hero. He didn’t qualify—at least in his mind—as someone whom God would use in his plan. But God called Gideon “mighty warrior.” Clearly, God saw something in Gideon that he couldn’t see in himself.

Do you realize that God also sees in you abilities and giftedness that you don’t? You may know your weaknesses aplenty. Yet God sees your potential. Why? He knows what can happen when his strength works through your weakness.

God loves to choose humble individuals to do extraordinary tasks because he knows he will get the glory. So instead of feeling disqualified for whatever God calls you to in life, reach for him. Ask for his strength. Have faith in his ability to make you able. That’s when you begin to see God work in your life.

Lord, thank you that you see me as a mighty warrior. I know I can accomplish what you want me to accomplish because of your strength in me, amen.
