Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”

John 11:25

Every single one of us will die—but in today’s verse Jesus promises something extraordinary. Our faith in the truth that he has risen from the dead means that we will be resurrected as well! This is not an idle promise. It is backed by the death he experienced on the cross and his glorious resurrection.

The choice is yours today. The passageway to eternal life is plain, unadorned belief that what God says is actually true: his Son—who was without sin—took the punishment we deserved for our sin, died on the cross, and was raised from the dead.

Jesus is the resurrection—your resurrection—and the life—your life abundant while you are on this earth and then life eternal with him. He will give you joy to face trials, and one day he will usher you into heaven.

Lord, my faith in you and my relationship with you give me new life now and life eternal. Thank you, amen.
