Seeing Beyond Today

Seeing beyond Today

We don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

2 Corinthians 4:18

God promises that the troubles looming in front of you won’t last forever. Your goal, then, is to turn your focus away from them and look instead toward those things that will last forever—God’s love, his gift of salvation, his care, and your eternal future with him. When you live with this perspective, you see your hurts and troubles as part of this temporary world, and you take comfort in knowing they won’t last. It doesn’t diminish the fact that your struggles are difficult, but you can rest in a more real and lasting promise: the hope of a world with no more pain. Will you allow this encouraging truth to soak into your heart today?
