Deeply Rooted

Blessed are those who . . . have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. . . . They never stop producing fruit.

God uses your circumstances, good or bad, to help you—and others—grow. It’s easy to be joyful and faithful when life is going well, but when life gets tough, believers have a unique opportunity to demonstrate how a relationship with God brings comfort, confidence, and hope. When you seek God in the most difficult of circumstances, three wonderful things happen: (1) You learn to rely on God instead of yourself, (2) others are blessed by seeing your faith and hope in action, and (3) you deepen your roots in the nourishment of God’s love, allowing you to thrive even through extended trials.
