Close Your Eyes For A Moment

We live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.

When you focus on a fixed point in the distance, it motivates you to move in a straight line toward your goal. In the same way, as a follower of Jesus, you must fix your eyes on heaven. As you do so, the hope you have for your “priceless inheritance” will help you endure the discomforts and trials of daily life. Close your eyes for a moment and “be truly glad” as you imagine the glory and joy that’s yet to come.
