Read: Hebrews 4:14-16

I wish I could adequately describe what it’s like when I’m aware of the overwhelming presence and power of God’s grace in my life. It’s like “living above” my wheelchair in a strata of heart-splitting joy that comes with God-breathed courage to tackle whatever lies ahead! Frankly, I believe that the more aware you are of God’s grace, the more joy and courage you will have. This raises the question: When are we most aware of God’s grace? It isn’t when we are riding high with a string of green lights and open doors before us. No, it’s when we are needy and feeling spiritually impoverished.

Certainly, God has given you strengths and talents, and He will use them. But if you are longing to live in the celestial strata of God’s joy and courage, then thank Him when you feel depleted and weak. It’s your passport to a higher, fresher realm of gladness and strength in God!

Father, I’m so thankful You call us to approach Your throne of grace. You could have called us to a throne of judgment, a throne of harsh criticism, a throne of burning, merciless accountability. But no, You call us to a place of grace, mercy, and help in time of need. Knowing this, my God, I come.
