A Spectacle Of Glory #279
A Spectacle of Glory #279
Read: Ephesians 2:6–7
Imagine receiving a personal letter from Queen Elizabeth, stamped in gold with a royal seal. And in that letter, the sovereign of the United Kingdom takes an oath on the blood of her son, promising to spend all of her vast wealth showing you as much kindness as she possibly can for the rest of your life. Wouldn’t that get you excited? Consider, then, what God Himself promises in today’s Scripture. We are told we have been seated with Christ in the heavenly realms “in order that in the coming ages [God] might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” God promises to spend the undreamed-of riches of Christ Jesus showing you as much kindness as He can for the rest of eternity. Today, reflect on the riches of grace, strength, mercy, salvation, favor, and one blessing after another—all of which are yours because God made you a co-heir with Christ.
Lord, I believe You. You will one day show me the limitless kindness of Jesus Christ through endless ages. But You also shower those riches on me today! I am rich in Your unmerited favor and mercy. I am blessed by Your counsel, provision, forgiveness, and sweet companionship. Your generosity awes and humbles me.
