A Spectacle Of Glory #26

A Spectacle of Glory #26

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:58

Some people imagine that menial, mundane tasks don’t rate very high in the Lord’s service—whether it’s cleaning up in the church kitchen, setting out Communion cups, or changing the oil on an elderly widow’s car. But no task undertaken for the Lord is ever commonplace, undervalued, or wasted. Today’s Scripture reads, “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord . . . your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” In other words, what you do for God—desiring to please Him and serve His people—counts. It makes a difference, not only here and now, but on the other side, in eternity. Could it be that angels observe our determination, sacrifice, and the hours we invest in His work? One thing is for certain: God himself sees and takes note. And what you do for Him today may have far greater implications than you could ever begin to imagine.

Lord, how good it is to remember that nothing escapes Your notice. Every task I have ever attempted for You, every time I worked through my pain, every time I set aside something I wanted in order to do what You wanted, has been recorded in heaven. I may feel many things in my life, but I should never, ever feel overlooked.
