Tired Of Being Tired
Tired of Being Tired
What you do with your frustration determines your future. I have no doubt that you have heard someone say, “I got tired of being tired.” This is often said about lingering frustration someone may have had. It’s what four-time World Series champion Darryl Strawberry felt about his life before he really got his addictions under control. Now God is taking his mess and making it his ministry.a When you are tired of being tired, you are at a great point for change. You see, frustration is a great catalyst for change.
While doing Insanity Max:30, an intense Beachbody workout, I got frustrated with myself for putting ten pounds back on and allowing myself to go backward in my fitness once again. For the majority of my life I have struggled with carrying more weight than I should. I commit myself to hard work for six or even eight months, but then, through stress, bad choices, and a lack of accountability, I fall away from focused fitness. You may be like me, or you may struggle with other frustrations that get you back in the exact same place. Whether your struggle is with your weight, alcohol, or pornography, when you are tired of being tired, look up, seek help, and get moving in the right direction once again.
God is not done developing you. Philippians 1:6 says, “I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (ESV). If you stay the course, God will take your mess and turn it into your ministry! Remember, what you do with that frustration determines your future.
I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6, ESV
