Reset
Reset
It happens at some of the most inconvenient times. My wife hollers at me, “My hair dryer is out. Can you reset the breaker?” Invariably it is cold or raining, and I have to find a coat or umbrella and go out to the breaker box, where I find that everything is fine.
Then I think, It’s the GFCI outlet. It has tripped and needs to be reset. This seems to happen about once a week, when the hair dryer and hair rollers are on at the same time. I go back inside to the GFCI outlet, hit reset, and all returns to bathroom bliss.
We, too, need a reset on a weekly basis. We need to power down all the noise that we allow into our lives that takes us away from God’s purpose for us and focus on him. We need to hear the preaching of the Word of God. We need to be called up to praise him. We need to offer to him our resources for Kingdom use. We need to value his church and gathering with other believers.
Hebrews 10:23-25 states, “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
Hit reset on a weekly basis by going to and contributing to a local church. Over time, it will change your life for the good of your soul and the glory of God.
Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
