Fully Rely On God!

To Read: Psalm 108:1-5

Fully Rely on God!

Your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

PSALM 108:4

I HAVE A BRIGHT GREEN TOY FROG sitting on my bed. My friend Kendyl gave it to me when I was going through a really tough place emotionally. Around this frog’s neck is an acrostic from a talk given by Daisy Hepburn:

  • Fully
  • Rely
  • On
  • God

Those toy frogs have been the perfect encouragement for many of my friends and me to remember to fully rely on God in hard times: when a spouse leaves, a child is in crisis, a friend disappoints us, a teen rebels, a home burns down, or other trials. There are many reasons why we women need to fully rely on God. And there are many ways to do that. I once gave my friends bracelets shaped like a set of mountains with a note that I would pray for them in the ups and downs of life. Having a friend pray over you can be very powerful. It helps to study the attributes of God or get an audio Bible and play it day and night. Write a letter to Jesus, completely surrendering to him and asking him to take over the situation. Sing a favorite hymn or praise chorus until you actually believe it. And spend time praying these verses:

Turn your ear to listen to me; rescue me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a fortress where I will be safe. You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
