Living Free Of Cancer

Would you believe that I’ve prayed for you even though I probably will never know your name? I have. Many times.

I prayed God would direct people to pick up this book so He might encourage them. I prayed that even if we never meet, you still would meet God and that He would meet your deepest needs.

It’s the same thing I prayed for my other books, and I’ve heard many incredible stories of how this came true. Some people have even tracked me down and written or called to tell me amazing things that happened when they were reading them. A handful of readers even drove hours to visit my Cancer Prayer Support Group just to see if we really laugh as much as I said we did!

I’d love to get a bunch of these survivors together and have a radio program where anyone who has gotten good test results or had successful surgery could call in and share their encouraging stories. You know, kind of a spin-off of the Dave Ramsey radio talk show where he preaches a message of living debt-free and when people reach that coveted pinnacle, they call in and scream on air at the top of their lungs, “I’m DEBT-FREE!”

Well, on my show, cancer patients would call in and holler, “I’m CANCER-FREE!”

I think a cancer-free survivors’ show would be a great program to tune into every day!

But my ultimate hope and my prayer is that all of us cancer survivors and our loved ones could call up and proclaim, “I’m free of cancer!” Not just free of it in our bodies, but free of it in our minds and our spirits.

Thank you for spending these fifty days with me. I know that everyone needs more than just fifty days of hope. In fact, there’s an old proverb that says you can live three weeks without food, three days without water, three minutes without air, but only three seconds without hope. You’re going to need hope every single day of your remaining cancer journey. I won’t be with you each day (unless you read my other books!). But don’t worry; my words are not your source of hope. They only serve to point you to the truth.

His name will be the hope

of all the world.

Matthew 12:21

That name that is above all names is the name of Jesus. He is the best hope for cancer survivors, their loved ones, and truly for the whole world.

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.

Romans 12:12

In the Lord you can find as many days of hope as you need. You will never run out of hope.

Ask Him and trust Him to keep your mind, your heart, and your soul free of cancer—whether or not your body is. Then you will be able to say with me:

Cancer does not occupy my mind.

It is seized with God’s perfect peace.

Cancer has no place in my heart.

It is filled with God’s awesome love.

Cancer cannot touch my soul.

It is saved by God’s amazing grace.

I am free of cancer.

My prayer for you today—and every single day God gives you—is from Romans 15:13:

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. I pray this in the hope-filled name of Jesus. Amen.
