You Have God’s Undivided Attention - 5 Powerful Truths about Your Relationship with God
You Have God’s Undivided Attention
“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17, NIV)
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16, NIV)
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV)
I was recently on a book interview, when a host shared a heartwarming story about his new grandbaby. The little one had just learned to crawl, and the whole family was gathered around her, their eyes never leaving her for a moment. They wanted to make sure she didn’t get into trouble, but more than that, they were captivated by her every move. The love and attention they gave her was evident; they were fully invested in her safety, growth, and happiness.
As the host shared this, I couldn’t help but think about how this experience mirrors the way God watches over us. Just as the family was focused on their grandbaby, our Heavenly Father gives us His full, undivided attention. Every time we come to Him, whether in prayer or simply in His presence, we don’t have to worry about distractions. God is not busy with more pressing matters; He is fully engaged, fully present, and fully invested in us.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us to approach God’s throne with confidence, knowing we will receive mercy and grace in our time of need. This confidence isn’t based on our worth or performance but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. When Jesus died on the cross, the veil in the temple was torn, symbolizing that through Him, we have direct access to God. We are no longer distant or separated from Him; we are His children, welcomed into His presence with open arms.
Zephaniah 3:17 paints a beautiful picture of God’s love for us: He rejoices over us with singing. He is not a distant, uninterested God but a loving Father who looks at us with love. He watches over us with the same intensity and care as a parent watching a child, eager to protect and guide us. God’s attention is never divided, and His love is never conditional.
This truth should give us incredible confidence when we approach God in prayer. We don’t need to wonder if He’s paying attention. We don’t have to compete for His focus. He’s always there, listening, ready to respond with love and grace. Whether we’re facing challenges or simply seeking guidance, God is fully present, ready to meet us where we are.
Reflect: Take comfort today in knowing that God has your full, undivided attention. No matter where you are or what you’re going through, He is right there with you. Talk to Him with confidence, knowing that He hears you, cares for you, and is always watching over you.
Pray:
“Father, thank You that in Jesus, I have Your full undivided attention. Please remind me of this truth whenever I feel alone or unnoticed. I am so grateful for Your constant care and love. Help me to rest in the knowledge that You are always with me, watching over me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
