Trials
trials - How can I allow trials to strengthen my faith instead of damaging it?
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
1 Peter 1:7
We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28
TRIALS HAVE A WAY of flipping our faith upside down. They challenge our core beliefs about God, raising big life questions like “Is God really good?” “Does he hear my prayers?” “Why does he let bad things happen?” “Does he care?” How can we allow great adversity to strengthen our faith instead of destroying it? Perhaps the best way to respond is by meditating on God’s promises in his Word. They remind us who God is and how he has kept his promises to his people over the ages. You may not understand why God has called you to walk through a particular crisis, but he promises to work all of it into something good. Remember that you will have to endure these trials for only a little while, and then there will be an eternity of wonderful joy ahead.
