Tragedy
tragedy - How does God help me in times of tragedy?
LORD, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.
Psalm 10:17
It is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.
Hebrews 6:18-19
I am counting on the LORD; yes, . . . I have put my hope in his word.
Psalm 130:5
I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, “You are my God!” My future is in your hands. . . . How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.
Psalm 31:14-15, 19
WHEN TRAGIC CIRCUMSTANCES come our way, only one thing will always keep us going: hope. We hope that life will not always be this difficult, that our circumstances will improve, that we will receive comfort for our hurting hearts. God’s Word is the best source of hope; it’s full of promises that give us the strength and encouragement we need to keep going. God promises his unfailing love, his constant presence, his comfort, and a glorious future with him. Whatever tragedy has struck your life, trust that God sees you, hears your cries, and promises hope for your future.
