Tears
tears - Is God with me when I feel so alone in my sadness? Does he see my tears?
In my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.
Psalm 18:6
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
Psalm 56:8
I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
Romans 8:38
DEEP SORROW has the power to isolate us, making us feel cut off from others and even God. However, God promises that even if we don’t have another soul to cry with, he sees our tears and hears our prayers. Whether or not we are aware of it, God is always with us, even in our darkest moments. Our tears are precious to him. Not only does he see every tear we cry, he also saves our tears. Perhaps this is because he knows they represent the loss of something that was important to us, and what is important to us is also important to him. The next time you are tempted to believe you are alone in your grief, whisper God’s name as a way to remember that he is with you. Your soul can find the rest and healing it longs for by staying close to him.
