Protection
protection - Why does God protect some people but not others? How can I trust he will protect me?
The LORD is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
Psalm 27:1
Through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
1 Peter 1:5
The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.”
Psalm 91:14
HOW CAN WE UNDERSTAND God’s promises of protection in a world filled with sadness and tragedy? This is a difficult question that we may never be able to fully answer. God’s view of protection is much larger and more significant than ours. While God cares for us and our physical safety, he is more concerned about our spiritual protection. When we view our earthly life and eternal future with this perspective, God’s protection takes on a much deeper meaning. Bad things will continue to happen in our lifetime, but nothing so bad that it will separate us from him. Sad things will happen too, but nothing so sad that God cannot redeem it. God’s protection is a shield for those who have chosen to trust him as their Savior. No matter what happens, God assures us he will watch over our souls and guard them for all eternity. This is our ultimate security and hope.
