Pain

pain - What hope do I have for living through painful circumstances?

We believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.

Romans 8:23

After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

1 Peter 5:10

What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

Romans 8:18

ALMOST EVERYONE has felt the physical tension or the chest-tightening ache that comes from a broken heart. Whether our pain comes from betrayal, neglect, abandonment, or failing health, our greatest (and only) hope is healing from God. Sometimes agony feels so intense that we can’t see anything except our pain. But even when we can’t see God, he is right beside us. He never takes a day off or forgets to care for us. He has promised to help us in every difficulty. If you doubt God’s ability to heal your pain, that is okay. Start by telling him how you feel. When you allow him into your pain through your honest, vulnerable prayers, you can experience healing through his loving presence.
