God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Psalm 46:1-2

FOR REASONS only God knows, he allows disasters to happen—not only to the ungodly but also to those who follow him. He may allow crises in our lives in order to get our attention and draw us back to himself. Sometimes a disaster can be the consequence of our own sin or the ripple effect of someone else’s. Sometimes it is man-made, like war, and other times it comes through nature in the form of a violent storm, a flood, a fire, or a drought. No matter what disasters you face, have faith that God still loves you and has your best interests at heart. If you have experienced disaster, hold on to the truth that God himself is with you in your crisis and promises to bring something good out of it.
