A prayer of Commitment

Why can’t I stay committed to Christ?

Heavenly Father,

Help me to get it through my head that commitment involves giving you my whole self—body, soul, emotions, and mind. Though my mind must decide to commit to you, it’s my will that allows me to follow through. I know commitment can be costly, but you promise great blessings to those who are faithful. I want to be fully devoted to you—no matter what. This is my fervent prayer today.

Give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Romans 6:13
