A prayer for my Future

When the future is uncertain

God,

From where I stand right now, the future seems scary. I don’t like feeling this vulnerable, and if I’m honest, sometimes I doubt your care for me. I feel as if you are neglecting me. I don’t know what will happen, and I sense the old familiar feelings of insecurity and doubt creeping into my heart and making their way into my thoughts. I’ve been here before, though, so I still know that you are directing my steps. Although this path may lead me through some dark valleys or seem to take some unnecessary detours, I know I will one day look back and discover that your way was perfect. You are my loving Creator, and you have always given me your best. When I consider your track record, I have no reason to doubt you in the future. Because you love me so much, why should I think that you would hold anything back? I cling to this hope for the future and wait expectantly for you to guide me to my next step.

The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8
