A Prayer About Risk

A prayer about Risk

When I need to risk more in my relationship with God

Dear Lord,

I must admit that I don’t like a lot of risk. I try to minimize it, because trying something new is scary for me if I don’t know the outcome. But I know that without taking risks, nothing significant is ever accomplished. After all, the Bible says that the Christian life itself is risky; it involves trusting in a God I can’t see, or taking a stand for what is right. Lord, where do I need to take more risks with you? I don’t want to miss an opportunity you have for me because I was too cautious to step out in faith and follow your call. May the risks I take have a worthy goal. When you call me to do something that is out of my comfort zone, help me to obey you despite the risk of failing, and then trust you to help me succeed. The moment of risk will be worth the growth in my relationship with you.

Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:5
