A Prayer About Quiet Times

A prayer about Quiet Times

When God doesn’t seem to be showing up for quiet times

Lord,

I admit that I struggle to be still and quiet. I want to hear you speak, but I know that so often I throw out my complaints or needs and then rush on with my day without even listening for your response. Help me to prepare myself to hear you speak. Honestly, I feel awkward just sitting there and not talking. Please empty me of my need to be heard or to be in control of our times together. May I just spend time in your presence without verbalizing my prayers. Teach me to meditate on you and listen for your voice. Help me to believe that I will hear you, and ready my heart to hear you speak to me.

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. . . . Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. . . . Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:1, 5, 8
