A prayer about Mentoring

Should I be mentoring someone?

Lord,

Should I be exploring a one-on-one mentoring relationship with someone who is younger? Should I be sharing the wisdom and life experiences I have gleaned over the years to help a younger person learn? I am so grateful for the older people who shared stories from their lives, helping me grow into the kind of person I am now. I sense you are encouraging me to do the same. I don’t have much to offer, but my experiences might be helpful to someone just beginning his or her adult life. Who might I help and encourage spiritually? I want to be a part of causing faith to continue from generation to generation and helping younger people learn how to live effectively for you. If there are those I can help, O Lord, please send them to me. Then please grant me the wisdom to teach them how to grow in their relationship with you.

You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2
