A prayer for Adaptability

When I need to adapt to life’s changes

Righteous God,

I know that the ability to adapt goes hand in hand with trusting you. As I learn to trust that you love me and that you have the best plans for my life, I will be able to adjust willingly and quickly when the road of life takes a sudden sharp turn. Father, please help me to understand that I don’t need to know all the details of your plan to obey it—I know your way is best, no matter where it takes me. Teach me to let go of the desire to control my life. May I move forward in faith and obedience, realizing that because you know the way, I don’t have to.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. Hebrews 11:8-9
