A prayer about Teamwork

When I need to work with others

Father God,

Often I resist working with others because it seems so much easier just to do everything by myself. But then I complain that I’m overworked! Help me to recognize the immeasurable value others can bring to the projects I’m involved in. Give me the humility to realize that not everything has to be done the way I would do it; my way is not always best. As I welcome others’ input, may I appreciate their insight and creativity. You have created people to work with one another, encourage one another, and sharpen one another. I know that we are rarely at our best alone, so please teach me to embrace the concept of teamwork.

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. . . . A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12
