A prayer about Memories

When I need to overcome memories that are keeping me in the past

Heavenly Father,

I’m still holding on to old memories of my life. But I realize that it’s virtually impossible for me to obey you if I’m still looking backward. I need your help so I don’t dwell on these memories and, instead, experience the better life you offer. Empower me to fix my eyes on heaven and look forward to everything you have prepared for me as your child.

We don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. 2 Corinthians 4:18
