A prayer about Meditation

When I want to fix my thoughts on God

Lord God,

I don’t want to just study about you. I want to be in communion with you! I know that is what ultimately leads me to godly actions. Help me to remember you first thing in the morning and to fall asleep with you still on my mind. May I meditate on you, my source of all hope. I want to think about you with a thankful heart whether I have plenty or little; I want to remember your great love for me. May I weave you into the fabric of my life so that my family will learn to love you with a grateful heart. As I meditate on you and your Word, keep my spiritual walk strong and focused. I long to be close to you.

I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. Psalm 77:11-12
