A prayer about Dependence

When I need to acknowledge my dependence on God

Heavenly Father,

Sometimes I strive to be self-sufficient, but really, why wouldn’t I want to depend on you? There’s no one more reliable than you are: what you promise will come true. Teach me that the more I humble myself and depend on you, the stronger I become in character and integrity. May I become completely dependent on you so that I will completely rely on your strength.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. James 4:10
